Long haul small loads coast to coast.
Horses have hay and water in front of them at all times. I stop every 3 to 4 hours to replenish hay and water and take the opportunity to provide nose rubs and some love.
I plan on covering an average of 600 miles per day and stop every night so that horses and humans get adequate rest.
